Culinary Tour

Armenian cuisine reflects the rich traditions and diverse geography of the country, and also some external influences. On Day 1, we’ll enjoy lunch in Garni, where we’ll have the opportunity to make a barbecue. During our return from Geghard, you’ll participate in the renowned Armenian bread (Lavash) making process. In Areni, we’ll visit the Areni wine factory and indulge in wine tastings featuring grape, cherry, apricot, and pomegranate varieties. Later, we’ll explore the ancient Areni caves (3500 BC), the oldest winery in the region. Lunch will be served in the caves on the way to Noravank, where we’ll savor Armenian kebabs cooked in a traditional Tandoor oven, alongside Armenian Dolma. On Day 3, we will enjoy a late lunch at a restaurant near Kari Lake, where we’ll savor Khash with all its traditional accompaniments. On Day 4, lunch will be served on the shore of Lake Sevan, where we’ll taste local fish from lake. On Day 5, we will have lunch at a traditional Armenian restaurant near Echmiadzin, where we’ll sample Armenian Khashlama (Lamb stew). On Day 6, lunch will be served at a local restaurant along the highway to Sanahin, where you’ll have the opportunity to taste fish from the Debed River and experience the barbecue of Northern Armenia. Our city tour will include visits to the Genocide Memorial, the “Ararat” Brandy Factory, the Cascade Complex and North Avenue. We will conclude the day in a local tavern with live folk show, creating a truly memorable culinary and cultural experience.
