A nice opportunity to discover some routes of the Great Silk Road in Armenia!

The Silk Road, or Silk Routes, is an extensive interconnected network of trade routes spanning the Asian continent, connecting East, South, and Western Asia with the Mediterranean world, including North Africa and Europe. It derives its name from the Chinese silk trade, which was a primary catalyst for its establishment. The Silk Road symbolizes an early example of political and cultural integration driven by inter-regional trade. During its peak, the Silk Road fostered an international culture, connecting diverse groups such as the Magyars, Armenians, and Chinese.

On the first day, we’ll explore Khor Virap Monastery, Areni Wine Town (offering wine tasting), Areni Caves, Noravank Monastery, and the impressive Khndzoresk swinging bridge. Day two is dedicated to Tatev Monastery, where we’ll experience the world’s longest aerial tram, followed by Karahunj, a prehistoric site known as the Armenian Stonehenge. The following day, we’ll visit Selim Pass, Sevan Lake, Sevanavank Monastery, and Noratus Medieval Cemetery. We’ll also stop at Mikaelyan’s Cheese Farm to sample cheese aged in wine and brandy. Then, we’ll head to Dilijan, known as the “Little Switzerland of Armenia,” where we offer optional Dolma and Gata making masterclasses. Day four includes a visit to the village of Fioletovo, home to the Molokan national minority, followed by exploration of Sanahin and Haghpat Monasteries and Akhtala Fortress. On the fifth day, we’ll discover Gyumri, the second largest city in Armenia, exploring its monasteries, old city, and participating in a khachkar making masterclass. Finally, on day six, we’ll visit the Echmiadzin Mother Cathedral, Zvartnots Ruins, Saghmosavank Monastery overlooking Kashagh Canyon, and Amberd Fortress. On our final day, we’ll explore the Garni Pagan Temple and Geghard monastery. We will conclude our trip by Yerevan City Tour with a walk through the downtown streets of our capital.
